Georges Valmier

Georges Valmier is a French painter born in 1885 and died in 1937. He moved with his family to Montmartre in 1890, and was educated there in the love of the arts.

His work crosses the great modern currents of history painting, he start in the Impressionism and discover Cubism at 25 years old, and then abstraction from 1921, to 1930 he made his final way, finding a final answer to his research. He created sets and costumes for theater and ballet, projects for executions, carpets, objects. His works oil on canvas do not exceed 300 paintings, Valmier having died prematurely at the age of 52 years; his paintings are the culmination of many preparatories gouaches which many versions are works in themselves, showing a mastery, of his greediness colors and extreme creativity of the forms.

His works go around the world and is found through museums and private collections.
